Ashtanga Yoga in Ipswich
The dynamic practice of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga uncurls on the mat as a moving meditation allowing you the time to just be with the breath in a totally absorbing way and for the mind to calm of the everyday chatter. For me this is the most cohesive and powerful form of yoga, not just on a physical level but the way that it transpires into the everyday.
I am influenced and dedicated to my teachers John & Lucy Scott who have taught me Ashtanga Yoga in it's pure form, with the correct method and count, as learnt from their Guru Sri K Pattabhi Jois (Guruji).
I have completed John & Lucy's 200 hour Teacher Training Course recognised by Yoga Alliance, and am therefore qualified to teach Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. In addition to this I have completed a 40 hour training course with David Swenson and spent a month in Mysore in 2008, the home of Ashtanga studying under the guidance of Sharath and Saraswati the teaching family of Guruji. I spent three weeks this Christmas studying again with Sharath at Purple Valley in Goa, and have just spent a wonderful 9 days training with John whilst he was here in the UK in July. I have a dedicated daily self practice, Ashtanga is all I practice so therefore it is not diluted by other styles. I see my teacher in the UK on a weekly basis for the development of my own practice and attend workshops and on-going teacher training regularly.
